[ Her eyes blur with big feelings. It's in writing, but when she reads 'sweetheart' it makes her think of the way Hopper calls her 'kid' or 'kiddo'. She has no tone to go off of here, but her mind readily supplies the specific affection in Hopper's voice that she never learned how to contextualize in relation to herself, alongside the warmth she's associating with Erik at the same time. So she smiles, and she tears up, and she has her big emotions, until eventually she sends back: ]

by the forest, behind the blacksmith. a little near the lake.
just the edge, I didn't go in the forest

[ She's been hiding, not wanting other people to see her, in case Erik was mad. Now she's a bit glad for it.

The hiding spot is also highly inefficient on account of her wearing bright colours that stand out from the tree she's sitting under. Through a fore more trees, the lake is just about visible. She's altogether easy to find.

With tears rolling down her face, but she doesn't look sad or even upset. In a way, this is probably one of the most normal child experiences - when feelings get too big, so they just roll out in the form of big tears. ]

[ She smiles, and it's earnest, even as tears are still running down her cheeks. She doesn't quite bother wiping them away. ]

Thank you. For not being mad.

[ Not something she's all that used to yet with adults. Still, her face falls a little. Eleven picks at her sleeves a bit. After a moment, she admits: ]

You called me 'sweetheart'. You take care of me.

[ Her face twists up a bit. Some more tears spill over her face - and then she chuckles, a bit, and she smiles and it's watery. ]

Hopper calls me 'kid'.
