[ She smiles, and it's earnest, even as tears are still running down her cheeks. She doesn't quite bother wiping them away. ]

Thank you. For not being mad.

[ Not something she's all that used to yet with adults. Still, her face falls a little. Eleven picks at her sleeves a bit. After a moment, she admits: ]

You called me 'sweetheart'. You take care of me.

[ Her face twists up a bit. Some more tears spill over her face - and then she chuckles, a bit, and she smiles and it's watery. ]

Hopper calls me 'kid'.

[ He doesn't say anything to that. Frankly he can't imagine being mad at a child for anything, especially when she clearly meant no harm. If Rowena was injured, then he blames no one but the Fae and their stupid games.

He reaches over when more tears roll down her cheeks, wiping his thumbs just below her eyes. There's a soft smile in response to that chuckle. ]

I'm glad to take care of you, as long as you want me to.

[ He's not Hopper, of course. He doesn't intend to be, or replace that figure in her life. But Hopper is not here now, she has no one else from her world at all, so Erik is more than willing to step in and make sure that she knows she's not alone. Not as long as he can be a place of safety for her. ]
